This wasn&#8217;t because He wasn&#8217;t ready, but because He wanted time to prepare His disciples and teach the people. Now, the time had finally come for public declaration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Significance of the Donkey<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus&#8217;s choice to ride a donkey wasn&#8217;t random &#8211; it was a deliberate fulfillment of Zechariah&#8217;s prophecy (Zechariah 9:9). By riding into Jerusalem on a donkey, Jesus was publicly declaring Himself as the promised Messiah and King.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Happened in the Temple?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After entering Jerusalem, Jesus visited the temple and witnessed activities that contradicted its intended purpose. The temple was meant to be a house of prayer for all nations, but it had become a barrier between people and God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Fig Tree and Temple Connection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The story of Jesus cursing the fig tree is intertwined with His actions at the temple. Both the fig tree and the temple weren&#8217;t bearing their intended fruit:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The fig tree wasn&#8217;t producing fruit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The temple wasn&#8217;t fulfilling its purpose of bringing people closer to God<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Breaking Down Barriers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus&#8217;s actions demonstrated His mission to remove barriers between people and God. He challenged:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Religious gatekeeping<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exploitation in the name of religion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Traditions that created unnecessary barriers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ultimate barrier &#8211; death itself<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Life Application<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Consider these questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What barriers exist between you and God?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is God calling you to take action in your faith journey?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are you ready for your &#8220;go time&#8221; with God?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The challenge this week is to identify any barriers in your relationship with God and take one specific step to address them. Whether it&#8217;s deepening your faith, getting baptized, or accepting Jesus for the first time &#8211; now might be your &#8220;go time.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember: Jesus came to tear down barriers between us and God.
